Vee’s market-leading Bay Cat gets multiple, exciting upgrades
FORT PIERCE -- Twin Vee
Inc., North America’s largest builder of power catamarans, has given bay
and shallow-water fisherman even more reasons to buy the 19-foot Bay
Cat, thanks to a variety of exciting upgrades to the nation’s most
popular single-engine catamaran fishing boat.
The widely praised boat will be on display at the 45th Annual Fort
Lauderdale International Boat Show Oct. 28 – Nov. 1. Thousands of
fishermen are expected to see the vessel that has left competitors in
its wake, said Sales and Marketing Director Bob Chew.
The enhancements to the 19-foot boat, now being sold as quickly as hulls
can be built, will not only boost demand but are also indicative of a
new passion for quality and innovation.
Numerous product improvements, introduction of several new models unique
to the market such as the Family Fisherman 19, along with an expanded
dealer network, have strengthened the company’s ability to meet the
growing demand for catamaran power boats of all sizes, Chew said.
“We are not just displaying new products,” he said. “We are displaying
an all-new company philosophy.”
Twin Vee president David East emphasized that the company has not
compromised the soft ride and ease of ownership that propelled Twin Vee
from a dinghy-based, mini-warehouse existence 10 years ago and into a
major marine player building some 40 percent of the fiberglass catamaran
fishing boats in North America.
And that market share is increasing thanks, in part, to the Bay Cat that
Chew said is “far and away” the best-selling boat of its type in the
country.
A tour of the Twin Vee production line and the many Bay Cats with
customer names listed on the hulls only confirms Chew’s claim.
Now, along with the great ride, East said, Bay Cat buyers will have a
great look, more functionality and a higher level of fit and finish.
“We’ve listened to our customers and dealers and we have upgraded our
products in many ways and have made many of our most popular options
standard for 2005,” Chew said.
Among the improvements to the Bay Cat, to be displayed at booth #4115 in
the Sailfish Pavilion tent, are:
• A forward live well to significantly improve the fish-ability of the
boat for multi-fisherman trips, especially when the fish are biting fast
or when catching/netting baitfish.
• A taller and more functional console providing greater comfort while
standing.
• An improved leaning post equipped with storage trays, five rod
holders, a 94-quart cooler and integrated hand rails.
• An optional rear deck featuring a 24-gallon livewell and plenty of
storage space beneath.
• An exciting new two-tone, blue accent color scheme that becomes
standard throughout the product line. Other color schemes are available.
• An all-white cockpit sole with an improved non-skid texture and a more
durable finish.
“We are working hard to build these things fast enough to meet demand
yet maintain a higher level of fit and finish than ever before,” Chew
said.
Though not displayed at Fort Lauderdale, Twin Vee’s new Family Fisherman
series offers a dual console for the 19-foot Bay Cat, providing
additional wind protection, seating and enclosed, dry and lockable
storage.
The booth in the Sailfish Pavilion tent will be staffed by the Outboard
Shop of Pompano Beach.
East said the push for better products and more model choices is part of
the company’s corporate strategy to strengthen its place as the top
producer of powered catamarans in North America.
